Inspiration for this blog...

My family is me, my husband and our cat Caesar. I work full-time and have a pretty busy schedule, so I've devised a savings method that works: couponing for two. The coupon bloggers I read daily (who are amazing and SO good at what they do) all have big families...four, five, six or more people. This blog will be a scaled down approach to couponing. We definitely have the storage space (two garages and a pantry), but I don't want to hoard Cheez Whiz, Rotel and bologna. Rather, I like saving money on things I'd already be buying and using the money I save to afford nicer steak, organic chicken and milkman milk.

I wouldn't say I'm cheap, but I'm frugal in order to spend money on something else. Usually it's something that is hard to get for a good deal. For example, I'll use Pantene and John Freida shampoo (that I paid $1 or less for with coupons) but still pay $60 for a hair cut. Or I'll stock up on two pound blocks of Tillamook for $3.99 but then spend $6.50 on 10 ounces of Manchego for a party.

Plenty of better coupon bloggers post amazing deals and match-ups, so I'll leave that to them. In this blog, I'll show you my loot and share helpful insider tips. Then you can see it's possible for your small family to eat well for less!

  3. Hi, I stumbled across your blog-- can't remember how I got there. After reading this entry I believe we have so much in common!!! I often get frusterated with the other blogs because they have huge families and have tons of time to coupon. THANKS SO MUCH for your blog... from one "small family workin' woman" to another.

  5. Great to see a couponing blog that is scaled dog. I'm a coupon newbie and it's just me and my two dogs in an 800 sf townhouse. And I don't eat cereal and I don't wear diapers which knocks me out of what seems like 70% of the coupons out there :) I'm also from the Seattle area originally, now living in Portland, so it's also nice to find another Pacific NW blogger who is facing the same couponing challenges.

  6. Hi CilleyGirl! We have a cat so I will definitely try to post pet food deals! And I used to live in a 650 sq ft condo so I know what it's like to stockpile strategically :) Good luck and thanks for following my blog!
