Facebook Freebies and Coupons

So many businesses are promoting themselves on Facebook now, and it's easy to score free products, trial sizes and coupons from them. You just have to be ready! Many giveaways start at 9 or 10 a.m. Pacific time, so right when you first wake up check my fave source for freebies: www.hip2save.com.

Collin at hip2save (a national blog) posts freebies on her Facebook feed like crazy in the early morning, as well as times when big giveaways will start (e.g. 3 p.m. EST). Yesterday I scored a free Herbal Essence and Aussie product at the end of my lunch break. Full size! Just from reading hip2save's Facebook feed! I try to post about them on couponingfortwo's Facebook page too if I catch them in time.

I've scored a free can of Ocean Spray Sparkling Juice, a 10 pack of Tide Stain Release and a trio of Aveda Smooth Infusion products...and that's just in the last two weeks! Keep at it and you'll be checking your mail for coupons and freebies every day too! :)

More Fred Meyer Deals - 6/28 Trip

Today's Fred Meyer trip was to get a few necessary items for house guests, so I didn't have anything epic planned. A few deals I had planned were foiled, like my $5 coupon off Earthbound Organic lettuce...but they don't carry it! I also forgot to print out the Bailey's creamer coupon so I'll save that one for next time.

Anyway, I got all this for $14.45! Not bad for some necessities.

Yes that is organic Peach Lemonade...tasty!

  • White corn $.33 each sale
  • Organic peach lemonade $1.25 sale
  • Orange juice with calcium $1.25 (in-ad coupon)
  • Tomatoes $1.26 ($1.28/lb sale)
  • Wheat Thin Stix $.67 (in-ad coupon plus $1 off coupon from a sample lady at Albertsons)
  • Lay's chips $1.67 (in-ad coupon)
  • Darigold sour cream $1.10 ($.40 coupon NLA)
  • Extra large eggs $1.25 (in-ad coupon)
  • Pancake mix $2.87 (needed for the weekend, not on sale)
  • Russet potatoes $2.48 (needed for the weekend, not on sale)

My favorite part of the trip was my quick stop at the Coupon Exchange bin. I'm always a little nervous to poke around in the basket for too long since it's right near the door where everyone walks in and out (kind of chaotic). Weird I know. I don't mind doing a fly-by to drop a catalina in but the act of digging makes me nervous! Anyway, I spent about 10 seconds and scored a $5 off a John Freida Full Repair styling item...this is the coupon that our newspaper didn't get!

It would have made it 99 cents today, but I am going to hold onto the coupon until it's on sale for $4.99 so it will be free! Expiration isn't until September. Woot!

Fred Meyer Deals - 6/25 Trip

Fred Meyer had an awesome sale on Pantene last week. The Pantene Catalina is still running through July 10, so you'll get a $3 catalina good for money off your next order (OYNO) for every two Pantene products you buy. I got all of the products below for only $8.59 out of pocket!

Pantene were $3.33 each but there were also some in the clearance bin for $2.99 which made them free to 33 cents before tax after catalina. Even at full price ($4.29) this is still a good deal with the $3 catalina.

Coupon Transaction #1
  • 2 Pantene Hair Sprays @ $3.33 each
  • Used one $3/2 coupon from 6/19 SmartSource (SS)
  • Paid  $3.66 out of pocket and received $3 catalina

Coupon Transaction #2
  • 1 Pantene shampoo @ $2.99
  • 1 Pantene hairspray @ $3.34
  • Used one $3/2 coupon from 6/19 SmartSource (SS)
  • Used $3 catalina from Transaction #1
  • Paid $.33 and received $3 catalina
Coupon Transaction #3
  • Celery @ $1.14
  • Tomato @ $1.40 (needed for burgers)
  • Bread crumbs @ $1.59 (also for burgers)
  • 2 Speedstick deodorant @ $1.99 each
  • 1 Gillette ProSeries men's face wash $3.49 (50% off clearance bin)
  • Used 2 $1/1 deodorant coupons (hanging in-store)
  • Used 1 $2/1 men's ProSeries coupon from 6/5 PG
  • Used $3 catalina from Transaction #2
  • Paid $4.60 out of pocket
Total out of pocket only $8.59 + tax...and plenty of hair products, plus men's face wash and deodorant! I have 318 Fred Meyer rewards points so far this cycle, which goes through late July. I've never gotten up to 500 to get the mailed coupons...anyone know if they're worth the effort of spending more money at Fred Meyer? I find Albertsons and Walgreens have better coupon deals but then again Fred Meyer takes their catalinas. I have four weeks to get to my 500 points!

Albertsons Trip 6/26 - with Twice the Value (Doublers)

Today at Albertsons I spent $4.07 and I saved $71.05! We had a $20 catalina (coupon that prints out for money off your next order) from last week's Albertsons gift card deal, where you got a $20 catalina for every $100 in gift cards purchased. We bought Home Depot which will easily be used!

Anyway, so all this cost only $4.07 out of pocket after coupons and sales (almost 95% savings)!

Kind of ridiculous, right? Under five bucks for the following items:
  • 4 Atheno's Greek yogurts (free with doublers!)
  • 3 12 packs of Coke products
  • 3 red peppers
  • 2 packs of Tic-Tacs (free with doublers)
  • 2+ pounds of baby back ribs
  • 2 Jello Temptations ($.50 with doubler...never had these but they look delish!)
  • 1 Coleslaw mix
  • 1 8 pack of Fanta (free)
  • 1 baby size Frank's Red Hot sauce (free with doubler)
  • 1 coffee creamer
  • 1 garlic head
  • 1 Johnsonville Bratwurst
  • 1 Hillshire Farms smoked sausage (expires in 3 days so only $1.99!)
We used three sets of three doublers...one from our newspaper and one set each for my husband and me. Almost all the coupons were from The News Tribune except the Atheno's were printable coupons from Facebook and the Coke/Fanta coupons were from the Albertsons Summer of Savings booklet.

Albertsons new policy is they distribute one set of doublers per person so I take my husband along. They'll let each customer do a max of three transactions, but that's usually all I need to get a few good deals so I'm done after my nine doublers :) Good luck!

World Market Birthday Perk - $3.17 after Coupon!

World Market offers a $10 off reward coupon during your birthday month, so I used mine today! You just have to purchase a minimum of $10 before tax. Free stuff!

I selected three kitchen items that total $9.97 (colander, measuring spoons and popsicle molds). I need 3 more cents but my husband loves wine gums which are $2.99. So, I spent $3.17 out of pocket...still a great deal! And now I can make delicious homemade popsicles and have a strainer that is the perfect size for berries! I love World Market's coupons and rewards. I never pay full price there!

Target Deals - Trip 6/23 for under Three Dollars

Target has some awesome store coupons that pair with manufacturers coupons this week. I actually went to Target for a coupon organizer. I'm embarrassed to admit that I keep my coupons in a ratty envelope, which I switch every couple of weeks. It makes for a flustering time trying to sort through them in the store! The only organizer I found was flimsy and over $4.00, so for now the envelope lives on...

Anyway, I spent a total of $2.89 on all this, including $1.24 tax!!

Items Purchased and Coupons Used
  • Kraft Sliced Pepper Jack Cheese - $2.54
  • Kraft Sliced Mozzarella Cheese - $1.99
o   Used two $1/1 blinkie coupons from Fred Meyer
    o   Used one $1/2 Target.com coupon
o   Paid $1.04 for Pepper Jack and $0.49 for Mozza

  • Kraft Real Mayonaise - $2.50 (husband request for homemade potato salad)
  • International Delight coffee cream Almond Joy flavor! - $1.84 - $0.55 printable coupon = $1.29
  • Morton's Kosher Salt - $1.69 - $0.35 newspaper coupon = $1.34

Total spent $7.89 ($1.24 was tax on the vitamins), Saved $17.83 (69% savings)

Except I had a $5 gift card from last week's Gillette promo so my real OOP (out of pocket) was $2.89 and savings $22.83 (89% savings or 93% not counting tax!)

Top Foods/Haggen Deals - Trip 6/22

Top Foods has a lot of sweet in-ad coupons this week and some great produce deals. You can check out the entire list of deals over at Coupon Connections. I scored many of these deals today and spent just $15.57 out of pocket...and I saved $19.93!

Top Foods trip today, saved 57% (plus cage free eggs from Fred Meyer)

The cage free eggs my co-worker Julisa picked up for me on Monday, and they're only $1.98 every day! I spaced on these eggs until I went to put my 89 cent eggs in my work fridge today.

  • Wheat bakery bread $.99 (in-ad coupon)
  • Arm and Hammer Detergent $1.49 each (in-ad coupon plus $1/2 from the 4/10 SmartSource - I left an extra one behind at Top in Tacoma...did you find it around 2 p.m. today? ;))
  • Large eggs $.89 (in-ad coupon...forgot I got cage-free eggs for $1.98 a few days ago...time for deviled eggs this weekend!)
  • Tomatillos for salsa (.30 lb) $.75
  • Newman's Pineapple salsa $2.00 ($.50/1 coupon http://www.newmansown.com/coupons.aspx)
  • Guerrero Corn tortillas $1.49
  • Yoplait Key Lime $.33 (quick sale)
  • Sweet onions (2.33 lbs) $1.61
  • Shredded mozza and cheddar cheeses $.99 each (in-ad coupon)
  • Darigold sour cream $1.27 ($.40/1 blinkie coupon)
  • Roma tomatoes (.91 lb) $.91

I always scope Top Foods for quick sale dairy and other items. Today they had a 2 gallon jug of organic 1% milk for 99 cents (down from $5.49) but it expired today so no go. One Yoplait yogurt is doable within three days though. The dairy deals are only great if you're ready to eat the products right away...I never eat dairy past it's expiration, even a day. Call me paranoid!

Anyway, check out Top Food/Haggen's weekly flyer here. I have the ad mailed to my house since I'm outside their territory and they're stingy about handing out ads at customer service.

What are you Buying at Walgreens This Week?

I love the challenge of shopping at Walgreens, and I really love using their catalinas (register rewards) at Fred Meyer to buy produce!

This week's Walgreens deals and in-ad coupons are decent but not amazing. Check out The Coupon Project for a full list of match-ups...she does an awesome job and posts two days before the ad even comes in the paper!

Best Deals...
  • Gatorade G-Series (free with rebate)
  • Gillette Fusion razor (if you need them, $.89 after coupon and register reward)
  • Hunt's tomato sauce (in-ad coupon $.33 each)
I've heard of some awesome clearance Walgreens deals like L'oreal lip gloss (details at Wild for Wags). A few months ago I was able to pick up a bottle of Beringer wine for $1.99, down from $5.99, so keep an eye out for those orange tags!

Made-To-Order Birthday Weekend! Plus Safeway and Bonus Coupon Inserts

It's my made-to-order birthday weekend! My husband is super thoughtful and deemed Saturday and Sunday, plus my choice of a coming weekday, as Shana's made-to-order days. So far I have had the following deliciousness, some of which were purchased without coupons (shocking!)

Saturday...my bday present from Peter was a spa day at Club Biella in downtown Tacoma ($100 via Travelzoo!) with my awesome cousin Ally. We enjoyed an hour massage, hour facial and a pedicure. I brought champagne and OJ and Ally bought cupcakes. Obviously I wish I took photos but I was too busy relaxing!

Saturday night I requested chicken kabobs, and Peter made them tropical style with pineapple and peppers. Soooo good! To drink, mojitos with mint from our garden and club soda from our fave SodaStream!

Sunday...after church we hit up Safeway and I only saved 50% but needed certain items like vanilla ice cream and spinach. The Safeway steak was sub-par so we stopped in at Costco and chose amazing tri-tip. Mmmm. My dad came over around 1 p.m. with beer, wine, apples, a birthday card and a present but I was most excited about the coupon inserts he brought!

Anyway, my made-to-order birthday request was steak with copious amounts of blue cheese, plus mushrooms and onions and potatoes and salad on the side...with white wine. Peter BBQed the most amazing meal ever! After my dad left, we both powered through 1.5 hours of house cleaning and now we are basking in a clean house and loving it.

I have not decided which day I am going to use my final made-to-order card on...but not tomorrow as I bought Trader Joe's whole wheat pizza crust and plan to make margherita pizza mmm. So maybe Tuesday!

Fred Meyer Deals 6/15 - Kellogg's Cereal and Jamba Smoothies

Fred Meyer is the place to go this week for cereal, Jamba Juice, chips and toothpaste! Plus broccoli, grapes and orange juice (not pictured). I keep starting to put things away before remembering I need to take a photo! Sheesh.

Everything here (including the wine and an unpictured carton of OJ) cost $15.75

Highlights
  • Bought 5 boxes of select Kellogg's cereal ($2.99 each)
  • Used FM in-ad coupon for $5 off 5 boxes
  • Used 3 $1.00 off coupons and one BOGO
  • Paid $3.96 total or $.79 each!

  • Jamba Juice smoothies - on sale for $2 each
  • Used 3 $1.00 off coupons, so $1 each!

  • Colgate toothpaste - on sale for $1 each
  • Used 2 $.75 off coupons, so $.25 each!

  • Garden of Eatin' chips - on sale for $2 each
  • Used 2 $1.00 off coupons, so $1 each!

  • Kettle Chips - on sale for $1.67
  • Used 1 $1.00 off coupon, so $.67!

I also used a $4 catalina from the Walgreens TP deal, which brought my total down to $15.75! I am super excited to try the Jamba smoothies too!

Walgreens Trip Week of 6/12 - spent $2.64

This week's Walgreens deals (match-ups via The Coupon Project) were just average, but I had $16 in catalinas to burn and toilet paper was on a decent sale. Of course I had forgotten that the one manufacturer's coupon per item rule also applied to catalinas (duh!) so Peter ran and grabbed three more $.39 candy bars to bring me up to 10 items with 10 coupons.

Spent $2.64 and received $4 catalina

Purchased...
3 - Angel Soft 12 big rolls - $5.50 each
7 - assorted candy bars - $.39 each

Coupons Used
(3) $.50 off Angel Soft coupons
(1) $.50 off two candy bars coupon
(6) various value catalinas from last week's amazing Walgreens shop
= $2.64 out of pocket (with tax)
Received $4 catalina for buying three toilet paper packages

I sometimes struggle with how to quantify the savings on this kind of trip, because I feel like I already posted about it with last week's catalinas. Regardless, I paid under $20 for both last week and this week's Walgreens trips, and I still have $4 to spend at Fred Meyer tomorrow.

Buenas noches!

Target Free/Cheap Deals Week of 6/12

I lied. I'm going to do Target deals today and Walgreens tomorrow, mostly because Target has a ton of awesome deals this week with just a few coupons!

  • 2 Carefree - free after coupon
  • 1 Degree deodorant + 1 Degree body mist - free after Target BOGO sale combined with BOGO coupon (this scanned no problem)
  • One dozen eggs - free after coupon (my Target just remodeled)
  • 2 Satin Care shave gels - free after Target store coupon (from 5/7 insert)
  • 2 Venus razors (each with two cartridges) - $5.99 each (after $2 off coupons) received $5 gift card for buying 2
Everything cost $11.98 and I received the $5 gift card so really $6.98! And now I have lady razors!

Albertsons Trip 6/12 with Doublers

Today's Albertsons trip was epic! With coupons and doublers, I saved 90%! I tried my luck at the Gig Harbor Albertsons and everyone was so friendly...I may start making it my store of choice again. They said people were waiting outside when the store opened, which is beyond me since the same deals were there when I went after church at 10:30 a.m.

Here is my haul...this includes almost 14 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast (from the butcher) and thighs and legs. There was so much stuff I feel like my photo doesn't do it justice. For the record, I used a lot of coupons but only nine doublers.

Spent $11.85, saved $100.98
Transaction #1
  • 2 gift cards totaling $100 (Macy's for wedding present and Starbucks for me, not in photo)
  • 3 Ronzoni pasta (had raincheck) - free with coupon (no doubled needed)
  • 3 Weber Grill Marinades - free with coupon (no double needed)
  • 1 Lysol Cleaner - .50 after double
  • 1 Ken's Salad Dressing - free after double
  • 1 Food Should Taste Good chips - .50 after double
  • My cashier gave me coupon overage so all the groceries only cost me 11 cents! Total out of pocket was $100.11 and I received a $20 catalina to spend on my next transaction with the awesome Albertsons gift card promo.
Transaction #2
  • 3 Old Spice deodorant ($2 each after coupon but will receive catalina on this order)
  • 3 Old Spice body wash (free with coupon)
  • 1 Frank's mini hot sauce - free with double
  • 1 Food Should Taste Good chips - .50 after double
  • Paid $6.06 + tax out of pocket, received $5 off my next order (from Old Spice stuff)
At this point, I have $25 in catalinas to use on my final transaction!

Transaction #3
  • 5 gallon size ziploc bags - $1.79 each after coupon
  • 2 Glad plastic wraps - $1.50 each after double
  • 1 Kraft shredded cheese - $.99 after double
  • Fructis shampoo - $.50 after double (not the nicest but I love the smell!)
  • Mushrooms - $2.49 (not a good deal but needed for grilling today)
  • Chicken thighs/legs (7.8 pounds) - $.88/lb
  • Boneless skinless chicken breast (5.4 pounds) - $1.99/lb
I used my $5 off $25 coupon that I got via email, as well as the $5 catalina and $20 catalina from previous transactions, so I only paid $4.15 out of pocket!

Total out of pocket: $11.85
Total saved: $100.98
Savings: 90%

Clearly we eat a lot of chicken. It's also a BBQ friendly option. I had been trying to eat organic chicken but it was so pricey that I only buy it when it's on a sweet sale. Albertsons chicken breasts are from the butcher which I prefer over pre-packed. Honestly, my husband touches all raw chicken in the house anyway so it's all good.

If you have any questions, feel free to post...you can only do this deal through Tuesday 6/14, but the gift card promo is running through Saturday 6/18, so I may do it again and buy a Home Depot gift card since we seem to shop there constantly anyway.

Coming tomorrow... Walgreens deals. :)

FlipFlop Wines Review

The FlipFlop wines label is so cute that I had to buy four bottles last week. It was on sale for only $4.99, minus 10% for buying four bottles at Top Foods, so about $5 each with tax! Also, I purchased FlipFlop wines myself and wasn't commissioned by them to do a review...by the looks of their Facebook page other bloggers were given wine.

Pre-game glass of Moscato

We (mostly I) drank the Moscato during the hockey game on Wednesday. It was super sweet but I would have it again for sure. I think it would make a delicious summer beverage with sparkling water from the Soda Stream. Tonight I had a glass of the Chardonnay which was also pretty good but a little oaky for my taste. I am excited to try the Riesling and Pinot Grigio but they didn't have them at Top Foods. I did pick up a Pinot Noir too which received 92 points so I am excited to try this soon!

FlipFlop wines has an awesome mission too: “For every bottle of flipflop wine purchased, Soles4Souls will distribute a pair of shoes to someone in need."

Honestly, for $5 I would definitely buy this wine again...but I wouldn't pay more than the suggested retail price of $7. If only wine coupons were available...

P.S. I did not go to any stores today but I did go online to buy a BioFit bra plus some VS lotion for $21 shipped!

Homemade Salsa, Cheaper than Store-Bought

One of my favorite meals is tacos and the most delicious thing on said tacos is homemade tomato salsa. Mmm our five tomato plants have blossoms which means soon this salsa will be with garden tomatoes! For now we make it with store-bought tomatoes but garden fresh cilantro.

Total cost for the salsa was under $3.00 and it makes a big bowl full.
  • Roma tomatoes ($0.88/lb) = $1.20
  • Green pepper = $0.79 (only used half)
  • Sweet onion = $0.51
  • Plus a few cents for things on hand: garlic cloves, salt, pepper and Tabasco (the latter purchased with a doubler coupon of course).

The finished product looks like this and doesn't last long!

Ta-da! Perfect with tortilla chips or on tacos!

Walgreens Money Maker Trip 6/7

Today I rocked it at Walgreens and got some "money maker" deals after coupons! I spent $15.16 before tax ($17.63 with tax) and will save $16.00 off my next Walgreens or Fred Meyer trip.

I was surprised to find Walgreens had all my intended deals in mind except the Gillette money maker (link courtesy of my husband...is it weird that I know the words to this song??) Anyway, no Gillette was okay...we have enough men's razors until the next hot deal. We were, however, down to one toothbrush in the house. Now I'm stocked up and can even provide a couple extras to forgetful house guests this summer!

Spent $15.16 pre-tax and received $16 in Register Rewards

Transaction #1
4 Reach toothbrushes @ $2.50 each = $10.00
1 Sobe Lifewater = $0.99
2 cans of Blue Diamond nuts @ $3.59 BOGO = $3.59

Coupons used:
(2) $2.50/2 Reach toothbrush coupons
(1) $1/2 Blue Diamond coupon

$0.99 RR for Sobe

Transaction #2
4 Reach toothbrushes @ $2.50 each = $10.00
1 Sobe Lifewater = $1.59 (their price mistake but I didn't want to fight too hard for 60 cents)

Coupons used:
(2) $2.50/2 Reach toothbrush coupons
$1.50 RR for Jet Dry from Transaction #1

Received:
$3 RR and a $4 RR for Reach
$0.99 RR for Sobe

Total OOP $17.63 ($15.16 before tax)
Register rewards received: $16.00
Price before sales and coupons: $52.97
OOP after RR credit: $0.84 money maker pre-tax ($1.63 with tax)

Victoria's Secret Free Shipping over $25

Now through Thursday get free shipping with a $25 order (this is rare! it's usually free shipping over $100 and occasionally $50!) Check out this slickdeals.net post for coupon codes you can combine with the free shipping code. You can only use 3 codes per order and certain codes won't stack.

I placed an order last week for 2 BioFit bras and an Incredible panty for $53.40 with tax and free shipping. I'm planning to order at least once more with my birthday code...maybe twice with the other $10 off code! Sweet!!

Awesome Shampoo and Gillette Deals this week...

I've been camping this weekend and am behind on my deals! I'm trying to decide if it's worth trying for these decent money makers. Odds are Walgreens will be out of stock, but the Target deal is calling my name since I like John Frieda's products.

Coupon Connections posted about a possible Target money maker on John Frieda and a definite money maker on Gillette body wash, razors, deodorant, etc. I might try for the toothbrushes again...last time they were out of stock when I went later in the week.

The Coupon Project also posted some sweet Rite-Aid match-ups, including some free stuff, but I think I am going to pass there this week. I just discovered a $2 UP reward (money off my next order) that expired yesterday. Hate when that happens! :P

What I really need is some produce...I'm looking forward to $2.00 personal watermelons at Fred Meyer. :)

Free Fish (...Well Sort Of)

Last weekend we vacationed in Lake Chelan, and my husband caught eight fish from the shore! We only ended up keeping three...two trout that we shared for lunch and one Chinook salmon that was maybe four or five pounds. We ate it the night after we got home. It was delicious!

Chinook salmon before it goes on the grill.

Trout that we paired with hot dogs and corn for lunch!

So the food was technically free, not counting the cost of gas to get to Chelan, lodging, fishing equipment and the beers Peter drank in between catching fish!

Wine Rebates and Cheap Chicken at Albertsons

Wine rebates are awesome...they're a great way to get $13+ bottles of wine sometimes for under $5.00! I buy most of my wine either at Trader Joe's (they have a great $5 to $9 selection) or I find deals at Albertsons and Fred Meyer like this one...

Perfect dinner? Chicken, wine, ice cream and brownies!

  • Cupcake Wine is usually $12.99 a bottle
    • Sale price was $8.88
    • Special this week: 20% off 6+ bottles (they always have 10%)
    • With tax, the 6 bottles were $46.29
    • Rebate is $18 off six bottles
  • Total for six bottles: $28.29 or $4.71 a bottle!!

Albertsons does have other good deals even without doublers!
  • 4 Starbucks ice creams - $0.99 each after in-ad coupon and manuf. coupon
  • 2 Duncan Hines brownie mix - $0.75 each after manuf. coupon
  • 1 Mission tortillas $0.99 after in-ad coupon
  • bone-in chicken breast - buy one pack get one free (under $6 for both packs! decent price)

This is the best deal though...
  • 2 packs of chicken tenderloins - buy one pack get one pack free
  • - $3 off any meat purchase Albertons coupon (received in mail)
  • total was $2.74 for both packs (about 2.5 pounds) of chicken tenderloins!

Fred Meyer Trip 6/2

$13.20 out of pocket!

  • Quilted Northern TP, 12 double rolls - $2.99 (in-ad coupon $4.99 plus FM e-coupon for $2 off, saving me $6 off the shelf price of $8.99!)
  • Tropicana OJ ($2.00 each after in-ad coupon and FM e-coupon)
  • Philly cream cheese - $1.25 each (FM e-coupon for $1 off 4...need it for buffalo chicken dip!)
  • yellow pepper and cucumber each $1.25
  • carrots $0.59/pound
  • Coffee mate (32 oz) on sale for $2.50 - $0.55 manuf coupon
  • Smuckers on sale for $1.67 - $1/2 manuf coupon
  • bagels on sale for $1.50 (six pack)
  • Tillamook sour cream on sale $1.50 (decent but not stock up price)
  • bulk walnuts for brownies ($5.99/pound)

I spent only $13.20 out of pocket for all this! I had $10 in Walgreens catalinas burning a hole in my coupon envelope, so I used those to pay for almost half of the above goods!

My biggest tip for Fred Meyer is combine their in-ad coupons with either paper manufacturer's coupons or their e-coupons (which are also manufacturer's coupons so you can't combine those with a paper one). I always load anything I think I might buy to my FM card, just in case.

For more Fred Meyer match-ups for the week ending 6/4, check out The Coupon Project's list.

Tacoma Mall Couponing: $75.75 of stuff for under $12!

Yesterday I skipped lunch break so didn't get any good deals, so today I had to make up for that loss! Emily and I went to the mall for Jamba Juice and pretzels. And I found some coupons before we left! This post is about couponing for two, co-worker lunch style.

First stop, Victoria's Secret. They had lotions and body scrubs for 75% off! I also had a $10 off any purchase coupon and a free panty coupon (I got these in the mail!).

  • I got four of the above lotions and spent $0.55 (after $10 off purchase coupon). Original price was $42.00.
  • Emily got a pair of cute panties as well as a lotion. She spent $2.73 (after free panty coupon). Original price was $18.50.

Next stop, Jamba Juice. There is a coupon still available for their Coconut Refreshers for only $2.00 each. It was Emily's turn to buy lunch, so she spent $4.38 (after two coupons). Original price was $8.18.

Last, we hit up Auntie Anne's Pretzels. I signed up for their club today and received a buy one pretzel get one free original pretzel in my email. Emily also bought these (I really scored today!) so she spent $3.88. Original price was $7.07.

Somehow I only spent 55 cents today! Emily spent $10.99, for a total of $11.54 between us. Original price for everything would have been $75.75. Next week our plan is to tackle Old Navy!
